Three Popular Myths Debunked
Todays blog was inspired by members of my community who wrote asking for my help. Thank you, for opening your lives and extending your hand in trust. There will be more blogs to come on various topics such as; messaging/monetizing your passion, the fear & confusion trap, winning the inner game, debt, how to find the time to start a business while in a job, how to start – period, and other fun stuff. The content will be based on emails I receive so if you have an area you’d like me to cover, just shoot me an email though the Contact pop-up in the lower right corner of your screen.
Okay! Let’s get going! If you struggle with the question of what your purpose is, and where to start – this is for you. Thank you in advance for reading and adding your genius to the conversation in the comments at the bottom of the page.
Here are a few myths I’d like to debunk!
1. I can’t do anything until I figure it all out, first.
(This is when your best ideas and inspiration stay in your head and never make their way out into the world.)
New framework: The truth is – you figure it out as you go. That’s what entrepreneurs do. We jump then build our wings on the way down. It’s incredibly empowering and the very best way for you to learn. When you do this, you are leveraging the power of momentum. Through action and momentum your path becomes clearer, and decisions are made with a greater sense of ease. Taking action helps you gain more confidence too – a lot more.
This isn’t to say you go unprepared or sloppy. It simply means you know enough right now to take the first step. One step leads to the next, and the next. Before you know it, you are seeing your dream come into reality.
In my heart, I always knew I would end up where I am today but I had no idea how I would get here or what it would take exactly. Honestly, the ‘how’ matters less in the end than the dream itself. The answer to the ‘how’ is right here for you. What’s most important is to always have your sights on your bigger “why” (to the point of healthy obsession) and to commit to investing in what you know to be true and right for you.
Action step: Trust myself more. Release old ways of thinking that have kept me stuck and
replace those thoughts with new, more empowering ones.
Show up (for myself) by taking action today toward my goal.
(I am happy to help you process this so you have a clear plan. Just go to the lower right of your screen to book a FREE Private 30-Min SoulFUEL® Clarity & Planning Session and we’ll chat about your vision and create a success plan to help you move you forward with confidence.)
2. There is only one purpose for me, and gosh-darn-it – I need to find IT.
New framework: Your purpose basically finds you as you step into powerful action, and you probably don’t have just one. You very likely have more than one beautiful soul-based business in your future.
Action step: Explore these questions to get a feel for your general inclinations – your core passions:
If I won the lottery today, what would I do?
If I had only one sign to hold up to the world – one thing to declare to make my mark on this earth –
what would it (or I) say?
3. It will come to me someday and when it does, I’ll know what to do.
“The road to someday leads to the town of Nowhere.” – Anthony Robbins
New framework: If you are reading this right now, it has already come to you in some form or another but you won’t know for sure until you start doing something in the general direction of your dreams.
Action step: Try these questions to help you move through feeling stuck:
What is it costing me to stay stuck, confused and in fear?
(Outline the costs in detail then move into your power.)
What can I do today to transform my someday-thinking into today-thinking?
How can I choose clarity over confusion?
What can I take action on today?
